Back from cyberspace of 30 years past (see post no. 71), we now resume our webcomic already in progress, “Asteroid Stu and the Mind-Duel.” We left off just as Stu had received in a mighty telepathic burst, a report from Norbert the Wiener, cyberdog.
In our flashback, Edzl, seemingly a normal, chubby white male human, is revealed to be (gasp!) an extraterrestrial, an alien warrior from the Nebboid Empire! His dog Ralph, is unimpressed with his claims and even more unimpressed with his alien odor.
Edzl’s “true” appearance is distinctly more chubby than it is today or even in his brief, but important, appearance in Multiverse Comics and Stories. Evidently as an advance scout for the invading Nebboids, Edzl found time to watch a lot of TV and snack on junk food. Perhaps that was part of his research and maybe he had a generous expense account he could draw on. Military budgets do tend to swell alarmingly in some societies. Did you realize that according to the NYT, the U.S. military budget is six times larger than another other earthling military?
Think how many bags of cheese puffs and potato chips that would buy!
Edzl’s got a work-out of sorts coming to him, at least in terms of stress if not push-ups, when our story resumes next time. Please do join us.
Multiverse Comics and Stories, 106 pages, full color, is available from Amazon in Kindle and hardcopy formats.
Asteroid Stu and the Mind-Duel, 54 pages, black and white interior, is also available in Kindle and hardcopy formats from Amazon. Both comics include Edzl, the Nebboid from the Vague Nebula, who will be the lead character in a running feature story, “Edzl’s Awakening: Or, Yes We Have Some Nibbanas.” This will be part of Pause & Reflect Comics, currently in progress.
