Asteroid Stu and the Mind-Duel concludes at last. What a relief! I thought it would never end! And by the way, that quote Edzl utters on page 47? I don’t know how he got hold of it, but it’s yet another pearl of wisdom from former VEEP, Dan Quayle. And that stuff Stu’s spouting about ‘bitter fruit’ and Norbert’s response is a reference to The Shadow, pulp and radio crime-fighter.
T-t-t-that’s all, folks! Well, not really. All the parts left dangling, like two imminent alien invasions and the reunion of Asteroid Stu and his soul mate, Astral Aura, are resolved in the next comic (already serialized on Chimera Spoor), Multiverse Comics and Stories. Plus you get full color, over 100 pages of comic book delight, and a whole bunch of new characters to sort out: Virtual Man, Zeldoid (another cyberdog like Norbert), SORT, the semi-omnipotent repair technician, Fritz, the fried-wired robot, flying bunnies, winged bananas, and a cast of thousands. Why don’t you blow a few bucks and buy copies of the comics? Buy dozens and give them as presents for the holidays! Buy millions and drop them on the populace to distract them from all the unfunny and tedious turmoil of reality. I think that’s a really great idea.
But while I’m waiting for the bucks to roll in, I may as well start another comic. Yeah, the one I’m constantly droning about, Pause & Reflect Comics, which will try and combine my brand of comic book silliness with at least some Buddhist dharma. Is that a goofy idea or what? And the comic, as you know, will feature our old pal, Edzl the Nebboid.
